We took the shuttle over from the Novotel to the airport, and waited in the Thai Airways Business Lounge for about ninety minutes before boarding the flight to Chengdu.
I will do the round trip taxi ride to the Holiday Inn Express from the Chengdu Airport, and back again, to pick up the bicycles and one piece of luggage that we stored there, while Tali waits at the airport with the bags we took with us from Kathmandu.
All has gone well with the bicycle and luggage pickup, and we now are getting ready to go to Shanghai. This will take longer than expected once again, as our flight is delayed in Chengdu!
We finally arrived in Shanghai at about 12:45am, and at the hotel a bit after 2:00am.
Les Suites Orient Hotel on the Bund is a design lovers paradise, one of the most beautifully designed and decorated boutique hotels I have ever stayed in, and certainly the nicest I have seen in China. We are staying in one of the Shanghai Deluxe rooms, which, at 43 square meters, is quite large by Chinese standards.
I’m looking forward to seeing Shanghai again, to enjoy its artistic and culinary delights!
